Sol Solis

Sol brings her business development background and strong community ties to the board of UNO, as a proud women-owned entrepreneur.

Since 2000, Sol has co-founded start-ups in the health & wellness space, including  Mera Bites, a clean-label snack company with retail and wholesale grocery distribution; Paleo Fit Meals, a healthy meal service company that secured the first women-owned, exclusive catering contracts with the Reebok Regional CrossFit Games; and Latin Rhythms – Academy of Dance & Performance, a 4500 square foot, art deco academy renown as Chicago’s leading adult dance instruction company.

Sol is a Chicago-native with roots in Pilsen neighborhood. She prides herself on her best practices and commitment to hire from and partner with community agencies. Additionally, she has served on boards and volunteer positions for non-for-profit organizations that provide impactful mission-work for youth and girl empowerment, including After School Matters, Chicago Dia de los Ninos and RiseUp! Girl Power.

Sol holds a B.S. degree from the University of Illinois – Champaign. Her continued entrepreneurial education includes being an alumna of Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses program, as well as Northwestern University, Kellogg ASCEND Business Growth program.
